HELSTON Athletic will visit Western League Premier Division side Plymouth Parkway in the third round proper of the FA Vase if they win their second round tie.

The Blues welcome Hampshire club Fareham Town to Kellaway Park for their tie this weekend, and will then head to Bolitho Park on Saturday, December 19 if they are victorious.

Falmouth Town face the prospect of a second trip to Dorset side Christchurch in as many seasons should both sides win their second round ties this weekend.

The two teams met at the same stage of the competition last season, with Christchurch winning 2-1.

Christchurch will first have to get past Western League side Cribbs this weekend, while Falmouth will have their second attempt at staging their tie at home to Gloucestershire side Bishop’s Cleeve after the game was postponed on Saturday.

Helston, meanwhile, are set for their first shot at their tie at home to Hampshire club Fareham Town, after the Wessex Football League side won their first round proper tie at home to Roman Glass St George at the weekend.

The game is going to be Helston’s first since the end of the national coronavirus lockdown after the Blues’ South West Peninsula League game at Wadebridge Town was postponed on Saturday.

Helston’s run so far has seen them defeat Torpoint Athletic 1-0 and St Blazey on penalties after a 2-2 draw, while Fareham had beaten Badshot Lea on penalties before Saturday’s victory.

Falmouth entered the competition in the previous round, winning 3-1 at home to Abingdon United on October 31 – their final match before lockdown. Bishop’s Cleeve have beaten Shepton Mallet, Malmesbury Victoria and Chipping Sodbury Town to get to this stage.
