The Fishermen held on to their lead until the 58th minute when Luke Brabyn fired in an equaliser.
Barely a minute had passed before Tim Nixon put Town in front with a header, before Luke Barner completed a devastating five minutes for Port with a third goal from close range on 63 minutes.
