Falmouth Town will begin the 2020/21 FA Vase in the first round proper, the Football Association has confirmed.

Helston Athletic and Porthleven are also in this year’s competition and will begin in the first qualifying round on Saturday, September 19.

Town’s fine performance in the 2019/20 tournament, which saw them beat Bristol Telephones, St Blazey, Helston Athletic and Longlevens to reach the third round proper, sees them avoid the early qualifying rounds.

The second qualifying round is due to be played on Saturday, October 10, with Town’s first game in the first round proper earmarked for Saturday, October 31.

The draw for the first qualifying round will take place on Tuesday, August 18.

Helston and Porthleven will receive £550 if they win their first qualifying round tie, with a further £725 if they win the second qualifying round.

Falmouth will get £825 if they win their first round proper tie and would pick up another £900 if they were victorious in the following round.

The FA Vase winners will receive in excess of £44,000 in prize money.
