HELSTON Athletic have added St Austell stalwarts Will Tinsley and Jordan Dingle to their squad in preparation for the 2020/21 season.

The long-serving St Austell pair follow in the footsteps of their five former team-mates Olly Brokenshire, Liam Eddy, Mark Goldsworthy, Damon Mulready and Neil Slateford, who all swapped Poltair Park for Kellaway Park last year.

Versatile right-sided player Tinsley has been a regular face in the St Austell team, with the 30-year-old spending ten years with the club before joining Plymouth Parkway at the start of the 2019/20 season, only to rejoin the Lillywhites back in October.

Last season's players' player of the year Dingle, a midfielder by trade, has spent much of the last nine years with St Austell across two spells, initially signing from local rivals Sticker in 2012.

He left for Bodmin in the summer of 2015, helping the side to a South West Peninsula League Premier and League Cup double before returning to Poltair Park in 2016.

Both players featured in the Lillywhites' superb run to the FA Vase semi-finals in 2014/15 and their SWPL Premier title triumph in the same season, as well as the club's two successive Cornwall Senior Cup-winning campaigns in 2014 and 2015.

The two players further strengthen a Helston side that was leading the SWPL Premier West and was on a 24-match unbeaten run before the season was declared null and void amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Blues manager Steve Massey stold the Packet: "Will and Jordan are going to be two great additions for us. They strengthen the squad really well.

"Jordan was the players' player of the year last year at St Austell and as well as his ability, his work rate fits well into what we are all about here with the energy and pace, and he's ambitious, as both of them are.

"Will is another one that can fit and play in a number of positions as well, particularly down the right-hand side.

"I'm really excited about both of them. Both are really excited themselves about being involved with us, whenever that might be, and I think it's a great coup for us here at Helston."
