The Kernow Football Alliance squad for this summer's CONIFA World Football Cup has been revealed.

Falmouth Town and Truro City centre-back James Ward retains his spot as captain and will be joined by Town manager Andrew Westgarth, who has joined Darren Gilbert's coaching staff for the tournament, which takes place in Skopje in North Macedonia from May 30 to June 7.

Four Helston Athletic players have made the cut, with right-back Ed Timmons, midfielder Olly Brokenshire and striker Mark Goldsworthy all being named, while Jason Robertson is the only confirmed goalkeeper in the squad.

One more goalkeeper is awaiting clearance to play in the tournament, which the Packet understands to be Falmouth 'keeper Ryan Barnes.

Former Truro City striker and FA Vase winner Andy Watkins, now of National League South club Bath City is one of the highest-profile additions, as is former Truro and Plymouth Argyle midfielder Shane White, now of City's Southern League rivals Taunton Town.

South West Peninsula League players make up the majority of the confirmed 20-man squad, with the Bodmin Town quintet of Tom Whipp, Max Gilbert, Harry Clarke, Cameron Turner and Dan Jennings joining club manager Darren Gilbert, as does Mousehole forward Hayden Turner and St Austell right-back Will Tinsley.

Plymouth Parkway and Tavistock of the Western League are also represented. Parkway duo Jack Calver and Billy Palfrey are included, as is Tavistock's Josh Grant.

There is also representation from Sweden and Australia. Former Falmouth Town, St Austell and Bodmin forward Harry Evans, who plays for Australian side ECU Joondalup, has also been named.

Kieran Conibear-Trathen, of Swedish fifth-tier side Sandviks IK, is one of two Sweden-based players. He is joined by Josh Bragg, son of Kernow FA co-founder Andrew Bragg, who plays for fourth-tier Atvidabergs FF.

Kernow will play six matches in nine days this summer; three Group C matches against Matabeleland, Mapuche and Australian First Nations, before three knockout/placement matches.
