Falmouth Town 3, Millbrook 1

FALMOUTH Town set up a Cornwall Senior Cup quarter final tie with St Blazey following their low-key win over Millbrook.

The result was never in any doubt and perhaps that accounted for a game which strangely failed to generate any passion.

Town took a grip early on and Millbrook appeared to be resigned to the fact that that was the end of their run.

It came as no surprise when Town went in front after 14 minutes, with Dale Band beating Lee Roberts with a fine shot into the corner.

Town snapped up a second goal five minutes later when Andy Waddell’s shot was sliced into his own net by Mark Dawson.

Town were out of sight two minutes into the second half when Rob Gregory turned in Andrew Street’s cross.

Mark Skerton pulled one back for Millbrook but Town held on for victory.

Perranwell 6, St Agnes 1

IN heavy conditions, Perranwell kept up the pressure on Jolly’s combination League leaders Truro City with an emphatic win over St Agnes.

Perranwell got off to a great start when Shaun Gilbert opened the scoring after only five minutes.

Perranwell were in complete control and doubled their lead when Boisey Symons scored a penalty, with Scott Jones and Nigel Brabyn putting the hosts four goals up at the break.

With the wind against them in the second half Perranwell were not able to generate the same amount of pressure, but Symons scored his second, again from the penalty spot, before completing his hat-trick with a fine and run and shot which gave ‘keeper Danny Carveth no chance.

St Agnes snatched a late consolation in injury time when Mark Jones headed past Martyn Kimmons.
