HELSTON Athletic are the second-best team in the whole of the tenth tier of English football.

The Packet has sorted all the teams across Step 6 of English non-league football across the country into one league table of 380 teams, and the Blues are ranked second only to Jersey Bulls of the Combined Counties League Division One.

Steve Massey’s side are top of the South West Peninsula League Premier West with 69 points from their 24 games this season, but even they have been outdone by the island side, who have won all 24 games in their debut season in the English non-league pyramid to take the maximum 72 points available.

Midland League Division One leaders Leicester Road and North West Counties Football League leaders Vauxhall Motors are third and fourth respectively with 67 points apiece.

St Austell are in eighth place while Saltash United are 17th, meaning both sides are also within the top five per cent of Step 6 sides.

Mousehole’s 53 points puts them in 24th position and inside the top ten per cent of teams.

Falmouth Town creep just inside the top 100, with their 42 points from 22 games placing them in 99th spot.

Porthleven are down in 229th place, having collected 29 points from 20 games, while Wendron United’s 26 points from 23 matches see them into 269th place.

New College Swindon are at the foot of the table with one point from their 19 matches in the Hellenic League Division One West.
