The Cornish Pirates sealed second spot in Pool C of the RFU Championship Cup with a 29-14 win at home to London Scottish in their final group-stage game of the competition.

James McRae, Tom Cowan-Dickie, Jack Andrew and Robin Wedlake scored tries for the Pirates, with Javier Rojas Alvarez (2) and Will Cargill adding three conversion between them, while the latter also kicked a penalty.

The Pirates finished as the best second-placed side across the three pools, meaning they will have a home quarter-final in the new year.

Redruth continued their climb up the National League 2 South table with a 17-12 win at home to Bournemouth, moving up to fifth in the standings.

Dean Bonds' converted try gave the Reds a 10-3 lead after a penalty apiece. Bournemouth replied with two further penalties but Redruth moved clear with Jake Clemson's converted try, with Bournemouth sealing a losing bonus with another penalty late on.

Camborne's fine form in the South West Premier came to a sudden halt with a comprehensive 46-7 defeat at Maidenhead. The Cherry & Whites remain fourth despite the defeat, but are now five points off their victors in second.

Penryn's excellent run of form in Tribute Western Counties West continued with a 49-19 hammering of Wiveliscombe at the Memorial Ground. The Borough move up to fifth, just ten points off Kingsbridge in third with a game in hand.

Falmouth, on the other hand, continued their slump in form with a 32-15 defeat at Teignmouth. The Eagles' sixth defeat in a row and tenth of the season leaves them in the relegation zone, level on points with bottom side Wiveliscombe.

Truro were made to work for their latest win in Tribute Cornwall/Devon, beating Bude 32-28 at home. Lanner lost 81-0 at Topsham, while Liskeard-Looe lost 36-33 at Tavistock.

Hayle all but sealed the Cornwall 1 title with a 78-0 thrashing of Lankelly-Fowey. They either need a solitary point from their final game at second-placed Newquay Hornets or hope their nearest rivals don't score maximum points in their two remaining games.

Elsewhere, St Agnes lost 18-7 at Bodmin and Illogan Park won 29-15 at St Just.
