REDRUTH came up short in their attempts to secure victory at struggling Westcliff in National League 2 South, losing 24-19 at Aviation Way.

The hosts surged to a 17-0 lead before Jack Simmons scored a converted try to get the Reds on the board before the break.

Westcliff extended the lead through another converted try, and while Redruth roared back with two further converted tries, one from Matt Shepherd, the hosts clung on to their second win of the season.

Camborne played out a 25-25 draw at Ivybridge in the South West Premier to remain fourth in the division.

The hosts quickly led 15-0 before a couple of penalties began the fightback from the Cherry & Whites, who landed two converted tries after the break to lead 20-15.

Ivybridge restored their lead with a try under the posts before Jake Champion went over to hand the advantage back to Camborne.

The conversion was missed, however, which proved crucial as a late penalty in front of the posts rescued a draw for the Devonians.

Penryn followed up last weekend's derby victory over Falmouth with an excellent 13-10 win at home to second-placed Kingsbridge in Tribute Western Counties West.

An early try ensured Penryn led 7-3 at the break after the visitors responded with a penalty. Kingsbridge hit back with a converted try of their own but two second-half kicks ensured victory for the Borough, who are now just two points off the top five.

Falmouth went in the opposite direction after last week's derby defeat, slumping to a disappointing 43-12 loss at bottom side Saltash.

The teams were even at 12-12 towards half-time, but a second-half surge from the Ashes, who move up to 12th as a result, saw them run out comfortable winners. The Eagles remain tenth but are now just four points off the bottom.

Truro surrendered top spot in Tribute Cornwall/Devon after their match at Torquay Athletic was postponed, with Plymstock Albion Oaks moving to the summit after beating Liskeard-Looe.

Veor suffered a 38-3 loss at Paignton, while Lanner lost a very low-scoring game just 3-0 at South Molton. Pirates Amateurs won 25-10 at home to North Tawton.

Hayle remain at the top of Cornwall 1 following a 40-14 win at home to St Agnes. Illogan Park lost 20-12 at home to Newquay Hornets, St Just lost 24-12 at Lankelly-Fowey, and Camborne SoM enjoyed a walkover at home to Bodmin.

Helston beat Stithians 43-0 in the only match in Cornwall 2 to set up a winner-takes-all match at league leaders Roseland in the final round of games in two weeks' time.
