GAVIN Perraton scored four goals as Ruan Minor recorded a 6-1 win at Carharrack on their Combination League debut.

Shaun Hicks and Will Trewin also netted as last season’s Trelawny League Division 2 champions enjoyed a winning start to the season. Player-manager Glen Patterson replied for the hosts.

Top spot is not theirs, however, after Perranporth reserves won 6-0 at home to Wendron United thirds. Brendan Hitchens scored two, with Tim Austen, Jamie Cooper, George Parkes and Luke Wort also grabbing goals.

Hayle reserves also began with a good victory, winning 4-1 at home to Helston Athletic thirds. Chris Bullock scored twice, with Kayode Odetayo and Craig Rennard completing the hosts' scoring. Titus Zemkus replied for the Blues.

Fraser Paterson scored twice as Porthleven reserves opened their account for the season with a 3-1 win at home to St Agnes reserves. Ross Tyrell-Atkinson also scored for Port, while Oliver Keveren replied for the visitors.

Pendeen Rovers began their campaign with a 2-0 win at home to St Day reserves thanks to goals from Alex Ralph and Danny Earl.

Dagan Vaughan-Spruce scored the only goal of the game as Lizard Argyle won 1-0 at home to Combination new-boys Rosudgeon.

The only draw of the opening round of fixtures came at Marazion as the west Cornwall side shared four goals with Penryn Athletic reserves. Brad Wills and Sean Sweeny scored for the home side, while Liam Dent netted twice for Penryn.
