JACK Rapsey scored five goals as Penryn Athletic thrashed Threemilestone 9-2 in their pre-season friendly at Kernick Road.

Russell May, Jake Shaw, Jack James and Harry Roberts also netted as Penryn completed a comprehensive victory against the Trelawny League club.

Penryn fell behind inside 60 seconds when the visiting winger cut in from the left and fired past stand-in 'keeper Bradley Leivers.

But Penryn were level five minutes later when May fired in a wonderful volley at the near post from a corner.

Rapsey scored his first of the game barely a minute later to complete the turnaround with just eight minutes played.

Shaw fired home a well-struck shot from just inside the box to double the hosts' lead shortly after, before Rapsey grabbed his second with a superb finish from outside the box.

The visitors pulled one back with a cool finish from eight yards but Rapsey restored the three-goal lead to complete his hat-trick after just 21 minutes, before scoring his fourth with a wonderful shot into the top corner from distance.

That was it until half-time but goal number seven came two minutes after the break with James placing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Rapsey finished his excellent evening in front of goal by scoring his fifth of the game and ninth in three pre-season outing for his new club when he netted from close range in the 51st minute.

Roberts wrapped up the scoring just before the hour when he and May linked up nicely on the left side of the visitors’ box, with the former drilling the ball in from six yards.

Threemilestone finished the match with ten men after their forward was sent to the sin bin eight minutes from time.
