Rosudgeon’s recent slide in County Division 1 shows no sign of stopping after a seven-wicket defeat at Ludgvan.

Rosudgeon were bowled out for 88 in the 39th over of their innings, with the hosts sealing a comfortable victory after just 21 overs.

The defeat was Rosudgeon’s third on the trot and their sixth in their last seven, with the visitors slipping to eighth in the County 1 table as a result.

Matthew Ellis (9) suffered an early exit when he was caught by Ryan Eddy, with Giles Lawrence (2) and Max Walden (8) also falling for single figures as Rosudgeon reached 22-3.

Matthew Jacka top-scored with a mere 26 before being dismissed for lbw off Scott Stevens’ ball, with Ben Ellis lasting just five runs before he was also struck out with the score at 66-5.

Mark Waters contributed 12 but his return was the last of any note, with the four remaining batsmen falling for just three runs alongside Jamie Burr’s two not out as the visitors were bowled out for 88.

Alex Westren (3) was an early casualty in Ludgvan’s response, but fellow opener Stevens did much of the job with his 43 not out off 64 balls.

Kyle Stevens added 15 before he was dismissed for lbw off Lawrence, who then took Jon Olds in the same manner for a duck.

Damon Nicholls, batting at five, stepped in and hit 16 not out alongside Scott Stevens to see the home side over the line after 21 overs.
