Helston Athletic and Wendron United were multiple winners at the South West Peninsula League’s end-of-season dinner on Saturday.

The Blues were named as winners of the Premier Division’s FA Respect award, which is based on referee’s marks out of 100, with an average of 84.64 across the 36-game season.

Wendron took the Respect award in Division 1 West, with their score of 87.96 over their 28 games enough to seal the overall SWPL award as well.

The Dron were also top of the Division 1 West fair play table, with their record of one red card and two yellows the best in the division.

Helston were runners-up in the same category in the Premier, with their record of two reds and 42 yellows second only to Plymouth Argyle, who had just two reds and 18 yellows in 2018/19.

Wendron earned £300 for their first prize while Helston received £225 for their runners-up spot. Both sides collected £250 for their Respect award.

Wendron were also winners of the Division 1 West’s Macron Ground award, which was decided using a points system based on votes from their divisional rivals, with each team awarding one, two and three points to the clubs they felt offered the best overall facilities.

Falmouth Town's record was not good enough to secure a top-ten finish in the fair play table, and therefore a cash prize, with their three reds and 61 yellows enough to place them 12th.

Porthleven's two reds and 50 yellows saw the Fishermen finish 12th in Division 1 West, short of the top-nine finish required for a cash reward in that division.
