Somerset County Women’s League: Winsham 2, Bradford-on-Avon 4

WINSHAM looked a strong team as they finished the first half a goal ahead.

Sammy Hockey played a first class ball through for Vicky Taylor to bravely smash past the keeper in a testing one on one.

The second half saw Winsham incur two bad injuries and with no substitutes they began to lose possession. Bradford who equalised early on and added another soon after. Hockey claimed a great goal later on but the Reds looked weak carrying injuries and ended up losing 4-2.

Trish and Belinda Bishop along with Nicky Body put in solid performances and, despite the scoreline, keeper Louise White gave another strong performance and was awarded girl of the game.

Marie Abercrombie rose to the challenge and had a really good game.
