ILMINSTER AA members were finally able to get on the river for round six of the Crown Inn Winter League on Sunday.
The river looked in perfect condition although a frost the night before made it really hard going for everyone.
Malcolm Levy made the trip from Tiverton worthwhile with two chub for 6lb 9oz from peg 38 for an easy victory. Graham Bulgin took the runner-up spot with 2lb 1oz from peg 23.
Third place went to Jamie Rich with a single chublet of 15oz from peg 24.
After six matches and dropping the worst result, Martin Heard is top of the league with seven points followed by Jamie Rich on eight and then Malcolm Levy on 13.
The next fixture is this Sunday with the draw at the Crown between 8.30pm and 9pm.
Results: 1 Malcolm Levy (Tiverton) 6lb 9oz, 2 Graham Bulgin (Ilminster) 2lb 1oz, 3 Jamie Rich (Against Men and Fish) 15oz.
