SOUTH Petherton notched up a 6-1 victory over Misterton on Saturday to keep them hot on the heels of Premier Division leaders Beaminster in the Perry Street League.

Petherton’s goals were netted by Liam Murray, John Hayter, Karl Diment, George Warr and a brace from Richard Hebditch, while Paul Gold got the consolation for Misterton.

Beaminster, meanwhile, made it five wins out of six with a narrow 2-1 success over Merriott Rovers.

There was an amazing game at Charmouth where the hosts scored six, but still managed to lose 9-6 to Perry Street.

Kris Groves netted four for Street with the others coming from two apiece from Sam McCaffrey and Ben Stevens and a goal from Andrew Board.

Paul Hardy (two), Charlie Rutter and Paul Retter scored for Ilminster Town Reserves as they opened their winning account with a 4-1 success over Crewkerne at home.

The other Premier Division match of the day saw Lyme Regis win 2-1 at White Horse.

Chard Rangers fell to a 6-2 defeat at Winsham United in Division One. Chard’s goals were netted by Tom Brown and the third goal in two games for 16-year-old Josh Rolfe.

Netherbury missed the chance to go joint second after they were held to a 3-3 draw at Thorncombe.

In the Division One Cup Second Round, Perry Street Reserves defeated Pymore 4-3 with goals from Ben McCaffrey, James Carmichael, Liam Riste and John Bartlett.

In the same competition, there were also victories for Ilminster Town Colts and Forton Rangers who beat Lyme Regis Reserves and Merriott Rovers Reserves respectively.

Millwey Rise maintained their 100 per cent record in Division Two with a 3-2 win over Shepton Beauchamp, while secondplaced Hinton St George gained a 6-3 success at Drimpton.

Luso-Chard fell to a 4-3 defeat at Fivehead United in Division Three, while there were other wins for Millwey Rise Reserves and Combe A.

The big scorers of the day were in Division Four where Combe B gained their first league win of the season with an 11-0 victory over Charmouth Reserves. Dan O’Connor netted five of them.

Farway United Reserves lead the table following their 2-1 success at Chard United Reserves, while there were other victories for Barrington Reserves and Hington St George Reserves.

Crewkerne Reserves beat White Horse Reserves 5-3 on penalties in the First Round of the Daisy Hutchings Cup after the match had finished 3-3 after extratime.
