PERRY Street got their first win of the season on Saturday in the Premier Division with a 4-3 success at Crewkerne.

Kris Groves bagged a brace followed by goals from Sam Mac and Steve Burr.

Manager Pinney praised his team’s ability to bounce back from a heavy defeat the previous week, but still felt that there was a lot of room for improvement.

Guy Dare (two), Adam Gribble and Steve Reeks helped promoted Barrington to a 4-2 win over Merriott.

A Paul Holt hat-trick led the way for South Petherton as they enjoyed a 6-0 win over Charmouth.

Ilminster Town Reserves lost 1-0 at home to Beaminster, while Lyme Regis beat Combe St Nicholas Reserves 4-3 and Misterton enjoyed a 3-0 success at home over White Horse.

Chard Rangers demolished Winsham with an impressive four-goal rout that moved Rangers up to sixth and left free-falling Winsham rooted in the bottom two of the Perry Street League’s Division One.

Returning veteran, Tony Thresher opened the scoring in the first-half followed by a brace from emerging talent James Walpole either side of the goal scored by manager Luke Chubb, the 95th PSDL goal of his career. Promising, young goalkeeper Jake Hardiman hardly had a save to make all game and was unlucky to concede Winsham's late consolation in a game where Rangers dominated throughout and maybe should have accumulated a cricket-score.

Gleeful Chubb was ecstatic with all his players, new and old alike, especially James Walpole and Lee Seymour and commented that his team were “on fire!”

Chard Rangers Reserves away fixture to Fivehead FC in Division Three was unfortunately postponed, due to no fault of Fivehead themselves; the village hall and field had been double booked for a wedding.
