CHARD Town were left thwarted at Zembard Lane when they had to settle for the share of the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate.
Both teams created chances during the 90 minutes, but neither side could provide the crucial finish.
The Robins went close in the first-half when Gary Spiller’s long-range shot went just wide of the target.
There was an injury blow for Chard in the second period when Jonny Hurford went off with an ankle knock.
Although the second-half carried on in the same way as the first, chances went begging.
It was Chard’s third draw of the season.
Chard are at home again this Saturday when they turn their attentions to the FA Carlsberg Vase where they entertain St Blazey in the Second Qualifying Round. The match kicks-off at 3pm.
■ CHARD Town’s youth team have won through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup following a 2-1 victory at Wootton Bassett in the Preliminary Round n Thursday.
Goals by Westlake and Boyland have set up a home game with Bitton on Tuesday, September 22, at Zembard Lane with a 7.30pm kick-off.
