GOALS from Cameron Birch and Josh Watkins fired Burnham United to a 2-1 home win on Saturday, which sees them sit seventh in the Premier Division table.

Daniel Ferguson netted Wrington Redhill’s reply.

Burnham now have nine points from six games, which would be 11 had they not been deducted two over the weekend as a result of fielding an ineligible player.

They are back in action this coming Saturday (2.30pm), at home to 13th-placed Timsbury Athletic.

Burnham United Reserves remain without a win from their opening five Division 3 fixtures, having gone down 2-0 away to high-flying Cutters Friday on Saturday.

Harrison Donachie scored both for the hosts, leaving Burnham in 11th place with three points.

They visit bottom side Stockwood Green Reserves this Saturday.

IN the Weston-super-Mare & District League, Division 1 side Wedmore crashed to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Clapton in Gordano.

Ryan Anderson, Abimbola Johnson, Mitchell Simmons and Tim Brown netted for the hosts.

Burnham United A also lost, 4-2 at West Wick in Division 3.

Connor Hull (2) and John McCabe were in the goals for Wick, with Chris Bailey and Harry Wedgwood-Potts replying.

Berrow remain in Division 4 title contention after a 5-2 win away to Axbridge United Reserves.

Sidney Howe bagged three and Joe North two for Berrow, as Fraser Harvey and Charlie Smith hit back for the home side.

Burnham United B collected their first win, as Riley Osborne, Chevin Syendes and Alex Plume’s goals saw off Congresbury A 3-2.

Wedmore Reserves remain winless, with Harry Brooks getting their consolation goal in a 4-1 home defeat to Yatton & Cleeve United B.

BURNHAM United Ladies suffered their fourth defeat in five Somerset Women’s League Division 1 games, losing 5-1 at home to Bishops Lydeard Reserves on Sunday.

Chloe Williams netted for the hosts, but Holly Burdick (3), Ellie Bentley and Sophie Lewis won it for Lydeard.

In Division 3, Isle of Wedmore Ladies thrashed Burnham United Reserves 7-0.
