TWO goals from Nathan Finn helped Chard Town beat Bishops Lydeard 3-1 in a pre-season friendly match played last weekend.
The venue for the fixture was switched from Cothelstone Road to Zembard Lane, due to Lydeard's pitch being waterlogged, and Chard made the most of having home advantage.
Finn scored twice in the first half to put the hosts in control, but Lydeard pulled one back from the penalty spot.
Chard resisted waves of pressure after the break, and killed the game when James Boyland set up Jake Board to score their third goal.
Tonight (7.30pm) sees Chard return to action with a home match against Staplegrove - spectators are now allowed to attend, albeit with social distancing measures in place.
