Cornish golfer Rhys Enoch is set to make his competitive return this weekend in the first Challenge Tour event since the tour was suspended in March.

Enoch will compete in the Austrian Open in Atzenbrugg, near Vienna, between Thursday and Sunday this week.

The event is just the fourth of the season on the tour, following several postponements due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Cornwall-born Enoch, who plays at Truro Golf Club, last played competitively on the tour in February, when he finished tied 11th after shooting a 13-under-par round at the Dimension Data Pro-Am in South Africa between February 13-16 – the most recent of the three competitions to have been played on the tour this season.

Enoch was ranked 14th in the Challenge Tour rankings at the time of the suspension of the tour in March, with the top 20 players at the end of the season earning promotion to the elite European Tour.

He will remain in Austria to participate in the Euram Bank Open, which will be held at Ramsau between July 15-18.

Tuesday marked a year since his landmark first career win on the Challenge Tour in the D+D Real Slovakia Challenge, after finishing 18-under-par across the four rounds to win by one stroke in July 2019.
