BRYMORE Academy’s Year 11 boys’ rugby team lifted the Sedgemoor Area Rugby Cup last week, capping a hat-trick of victories for the squad.
This rugby team have now won the area cup for three years in a row and crowned their time at Brymore with their latest triumph in their final year at the school.
The final, against Haygrove, was played in great spirit at North Petherton Rugby Club.
Both teams performed with their hearts on their sleeves but Brymore ran out 24-10 winners.
Tries were scored by Jamie Veale (2), Louie Liddle and Ben Rexworthy, with two converted by Ethan Carr.
Mark Thomas, head of Brymore, said: “I have never been so proud of how these boys conducted themselves on the pitch.
“It is great for the school and them to win but their attitude towards the referee and the whole manner in which they went about the game said everything about what great boys they are and how resilient they are.”
The Brymore squad was made up of:
Aiden Dunn, Jack Rigby, Will Hatch, Ethan Hake, Tom Vicary, Nic Winzer, Will Holter-Hovind, James Edwards, Bradley Rollings, Jack Dyer, Harry Hayward, Joe Wood, James Trebble, Liam Johnson, Harry Morgan, Jamie Veale, Will Kent, Ben Rexworthy, Aaron Scott, Ashley Dascombe, Farley Bruce, Tom Marchent-Saunders, Ethan Carr, Max Sweet, Nathanael Broom, Harvey O’Connor, Louis Bagg, Louie Liddle, Charlie Gunter
