BURNHAM United beat lowly Yatton & Cleeve United 3-1 on Saturday, to stay in second place in the Division 1 table.

The hosts started the game strongly and should have been ahead before Joe Selway’s pass put Cameron Birch through to round the keeper and score his fourth of the season in the eighth minute.

United continued to create chances throughout the half, but it remained 1-0 at half-time.

It was 2-0 within a minute of the second half starting, though, with a left-footed screamer from Selway after latching onto a Ryan Stiles pass.

The visitors pulled one back from the penalty spot on 72 minutes, but Stiles slotted home late on to give his side a deserved victory.

BURNHAM A put in a good team performance to draw away at AFC Nailsea.

The visitors dug deep and they drew level before half-time, with Jaymie Whitehouse heading home from a well delivered free-kick.

Burnham had a chance to get all three points when they were awarded a penalty in the 55th minute, but it was saved by the Nailsea goalkeeper.
