THERE'S Friday night football at Bridgwater Town this evening, with Clevedon Town nipping down the M5 for what should be another cracking derby at Fairfax Park (7.45pm).

The Robins sit seventh in the Western League Premier Division, and know that a win will boost their chances of claiming a top five finish.

They are also looking to build on the resolute defensive performance showed in last weekend's 0-0 draw at title contenders Exmouth Town, with co-manager Dave Pearse saying: "I am very pleased with the point and how everyone dug in.

“Jake [Viney, goalkeeper] was fantastic but so were the whole team defensively.

"[Centre-back] Owen Irish has slotted in effortlessly since he has come in."

Visitors Clevedon are eighth in the table, two points behind Bridgwater having played one more game.

Clevedon won the reverse fixture 2-1 in December, but their last match saw them lose 4-1 at home to table-topping Bradford Town.

Tomorrow sees Somerset County League side Middlezoy Rovers visit Nailsea & Tickenham (2.30pm).

Zoy are fourth in the Premier Division standings, with Nailsea in 12th.
