A FOOTBALLING icon thrilled fans in Somerset last Friday evening as Kevin Keegan took to the stage in Weston-super-Mare.
Somerset cricket legend Peter Trego hosted the event, which saw 300 people enjoy an auction organised by Somerset Signings and Framing, comedy from Gary Marshall and, of course, a talk by Keegan himself.
The former European Footballer of the Year gave an insight into his illustrious career as a player - which included three First Division titles as well as two UEFA Cups, the FA Cup, the European Cup and 63 England caps - and later as a manager.
Keegan, now 68, enjoyed managerial spells in charge of England, Newcastle United - where he built the famous 'Entertainers' side of the mid-1990s - and Manchester City, among others.
The chosen charity for the evening was Hounds for Heroes, who collected over £700 in donations.
Keegan remained in the venue right until the very end, signing memorabilia and photos.
The event, which took place in Weston-super-Mare's Winter Gardens, was staged by Concierge UK.
