Keynsham Town 0, Bridgwater Town 1

BRIDGWATER Town faced Keynsham Town for the second time this week, and on this occasion the Robins came away with the victory.

Having drawn 1-1 at Fairfax Park in last Tuesday night's league fixture, Jake Brown's early strike secured all three points for his side on Saturday.

The only goal of the game arrived eight minutes in, as Brown ran from deep to beat the offside trap, and slotted the ball underneath the oncoming goalkeeper.

After Jack Taylor had shot straight at the keeper, Brown was inches away from adding to his tally, with a curling effort from the edge of the box which struck the crossbar.

Tom Ellis had two chances to increase the lead before half-time, but headed wide from a corner and then saw another header cleared off the line, while Robins keeper Jake Viney made a fine save at the other end.

An uneventful start to the second half was followed by two good chances for Keynsham to equalise, only for Viney to save again from distance, and then their centre-back to miss the target from a yard out.

Substitute Steve Murray was denied by the home keeper after running onto Taylor's through ball

Bridgwater Town: Jake Viney, Ollie Morris, Jake Llewellyn, Mark Armstrong, Ross McErlain, Tom Ellis, Sam Towler (Nathan Byrne 76), Harry Horton, Jack Taylor (Sean Thomson 86), Dave Pearse (Steve Murray 72), Jake Brown. Subs not used: Fin Wilkinson, Dave O'Hare.

Bridgwater, now fourth in the table, go to Wells City in the Les Phillips Cup this Tuesday (December 10, 7.30pm), with their next league match on the following Saturday, at Odd Down (3pm).
