Division 1
Burnham Utd 1, Somerton Town 2

BURNHAM United lost 2-1 at home to Somerton Town in a game that felt like deja vu from the previous week.

In a game of two halves, Burnham started strongly and showed intent which was rewarded with Jamie Merrick’s finish from Mike Stevens’ cross.

Burnham couldn’t find the crucial second while on top throughout the first half and the game changed after the interval.

Somerton equalised within five minutes of the restart from a corner, before going ahead 15 minutes later.

Ryan Stiles shot over the bar from inside the box from Burnham’s best chance of the half with 10 minutes to go.

Good work from Cameron Birch in the final minutes nearly set up Russell Holley but the hosts were denied a leveller.

BURNHAM United Reserves made it six wins in six with an excellent second-half display.

The first half brought few opportunities as the teams cancelled each other out.

The second half began with Burnham finding their form and they were rewarded on 65 minutes when Benny Windram picked out Josh Watkins to head home, and substitute Harrison Givens made it 2-0 shortly after coming on.

Finally, Cain Smith beat two players, the ball hit the keeper and bounced off Smith, and it rolled over the line.

Burnham started slowly and West Wick took full advantage, scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes.

The Burnham heads never went down, though, and they started to get back into the game, to be rewarded just before half-time with Jeff Smith scoring from the penalty spot.

The second half was all Burnham, but they couldn’t find an equaliser and the visitors took the points.

Division 4
Berrow 5, Burnham Utd B 0

BURNHAM United B made the short trip to Berrow, and after the visitors had bossed the first 10 minutes and missed several chances, a Berrow penalty converted by Tom Edwards turned the tide.

Burnham couldn’t recover from that setback, as Berrow pushed hard to extend their lead and went in 4-0 up at the interval.

The visitors were conducting damage control throughout the second half but showed a strong resolve to stem the Berrow scoring until late on, when the home side scored a fifth.

Joe North scored a hat-trick for Berrow, with Sidney Howe also on target.
