Taunton Monmouth 45, Galmington Parkfield 41

MONMOUTH played Galmington’s Parkfield in a top-of-the-table clash in the first division.

A strong start from Monmouth saw them leading by five goals at the end of the first quarter.

Monmouth kept pushing through the challenges Parkfield gave them, slightly extending their lead at half-time.

Parkfield came back strong after half-time and went into the final quarter trailing by four goals. Monmouth continued to push on through and came away with a 45-41 win, cementing their place at the top of the division.

Quantock 43, Neptune 31

QUANTOCK began the first quarter strongly, with great defence and good shooting to go 14-10 up.

They maintained the lead in the second quarter, to lead 27-20 at half-time.

In the third quarter, Quantock pulled away further and did not let up.

Priory 65, Rubies 28

PRIORY took a commanding lead of 16-6 in the first quarter, demonstrating some great play across the court as the shooters settled quickly into their stride.

The lead was extended to 32-12 by half-time with both teams playing well, but Priory keeping the upper hand.

Both teams continued to fight but Priory dominated the game throughout to end with an impressive win.

Blackdown 37, Newbarn 41

BLACKDOWN were slow to start and struggled to find their flow, ending the first quarter trailing by eight goals and finding themselves 16-26 down at half-time.

They came back stronger in the third quarter, winning the second half with confident passing and some lovely interceptions and tips.

The game got closer with plenty of turnovers but, unfortunately for Blackdown, they couldn’t quite catch Newbarn.

Tudor 48, Emeralds 30

THE game started quickly, with both teams matching each other goal for goal to end the first quarter 11-11.

Tudor pushed on into the second quarter and nudged ahead 22-17, and maintained that pace, converting turnovers to goal to take a 35-25 lead.

They continued with a strong team spirit throughout the final quarter to register the win.

TAUNTON’S Under-16 B team were in action this weekend in a very close game where they just lost out to Tor.

The Under-14 A and B teams played well against Tor to both take wins.

The Under-12 A played Bridgwater and Under-12 B played Yeovil.

Both teams made a slow start but improved throughout their games with some great performances and areas to build on.
