BRIDGWATER Town face a tricky midweek trip to Cornwall tonight (ko 7.45pm), to play their FA Vase second round tie against Saltash United.
Heavy rain put paid to the tie going ahead on Saturday, and so the two sides will battle it out tonight for the right to play either Bradford Town or Baffins Milton Rovers in the next round.
Bridgwater are without Jack Taylor through suspension and Mike Duffy due to work commitments, while Jake Llewellyn and Jamie Laird are both injured.
Town player-manager Dave Pearse said: “We are down to the bare bones a bit but that can work in your favour sometimes when it’s backs against the wall.
“We will go down there and give it our all.
“It is frustrating and it’s a long way to go midweek but it is what it is.
“It will be tough against a side who are banging goals in, but we are in good form ourselves and we know what we are capable of.”
Saltash sit second in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division West, having scored 76 goals in 15 matches this season, but Town have been no stranger to finding the net themselves.
Last Wednesday they put five past Odd Down to advance in the Les Phillips Cup, with Taylor scoring three and Tom Ellis two in a 5-2 win.
