SHEPHERD’s Rest increased their advantage at the head of the Division 1 table in the Keyline Somerset Sunday Football League to four points, as they triumphed in a highly-contested match against Tiger Old Boys, writes Matt Whelan.

Lewis Coward opened the scoring for Shepherds and Ian Bellinger equalised from 35 yard.

However, Robert Pincott swept home for Shepherds, seeing them towards a fifth win from six league outings.

Hamilton leapfrogged Ash Rangers into second place after a thrilling 5-3 success against their rivals.

Thiago Alipio Ferreira and Nick Izzard both produced two-goal hauls, with Mark Kmita adding a fifth for Hamilton to give them a more than healthy 5-1 lead at half-time.

Ash improved in the second 45 and, coupled with Casey Warren’s red card for Hamilton, they managed to pull the deficit back to 5-3.

Joe Wilkinson, Scott Chidgey and Sam Mockridge efforts made Hamilton sweat for the points.

West Monkton’s run of three straight victories came to an end as they were beaten 3-1 at reigning champions Bathpool.

Liam McClelland, Craig Plumridge and Robbie Stowell also converted to make sure Blue Park kept their leading position in the standings.

Taunton North Robbins were awarded a walkover win against Nether Stowey.

Butlin’s enthralling 6-3 triumph at Cotford Saints was a third consecutive league win.

Michael Nield hit a hat-trick, with Joe Fitzsimmons, Perry Sofokleous and Stephen Thompson rounding off the scoring for Butlin’s, who climb up to third.

Carhampton Rovers performed greatly to beat Panthers 5-1, as Toby Waghorn excelled in scoring a hat-trick for Carhampton, who ended their opponents streak of four wins on the bounce.
