BRIDGWATER Town head to Bridport this weekend, boosted by consecutive 2-0 wins in the last week.

The Robins saw off Roman Glass St George in last Saturday's Western League Premier fixture, and then won at Southern League side Frome Town in the Somerset Premier Cup on Tuesday.

Now Bridgwater return to league action, travelling to Bridport for a match moved to 10.45am on Sunday morning, due to its place in the Western League's 'Groundhop Weekend'.

The hosts are currently down 17th place, but they won 4-0 at Chipping Sodbury Town last weekend, in former Chard Town boss Jamie Manley’s first game in charge.

Robins co-manager Dave Pearse said: “The lads are looking forward to it and it’s a good time of year to go there, before the weather gets too bad.

“They will be competitive but we are in good form - we haven’t lost in the league since the opening day - and we’ll go there confident.”

Jake Viney is set to return in goal, with Bridgwater having a fully fit squad to pick from.

Elsewhere this weekend, Bridgwater Town Reserves and Middlezoy Rovers are both in Somerset FA Senior Cup second round action tomorrow.

The former host Clevedon United, and Middlezoy entertain Broad Plain House (both ko 2pm).

County League Division 2 leaders Middlezoy Rovers Reserves go to Long Ashton tomorrow (ko 3pm).

And on Sunday, Middlezoy Rovers Ladies entertain Torquay United in the South West Women's League (ko 2pm).
