Dorchester Town 2, Taunton Town 2

A LAST-GASP equaliser from Jamie Price salvaged a point for Taunton at Dorchester after the Peacocks had earlier missed two penalties.

After a quiet opening, the game sprung into life with a goal for each side in the space of four minutes.

Dorchester were first to strike, Charlie Davis curling a free-kick around the wall and into the net on 27 minutes, but Andrew Neal quickly levelled things up when he fired home Shane White's cutback.

Neal then spurned the chance to double his tally shortly before half-time, blasting over from the spot after a Dorchester player handled in the area.

The second half began at a frantic pace, with Zac Smith hitting the bar and Dan Sullivan seeing a shot cleared off the line as the Peacocks looked for the vital next goal.

It was the hosts who scored it, however, Tom Bath heading a cross past Lloyd Irish with 49 minutes played.

The woodwork denied Taunton again midway through the half, substitute Matt Wright's header hitting the post, and the striker then earned the Peacocks a second penalty of the night when he was pulled down in the area.

This time Sullivan stepped up but his effort was saved by Shane Murphy to keep Dorchester in front.

It was a lead they held until the dying minutes, when Price appeared to get the final touch from a goalmouth scramble to draw Taunton level at the death.

Taunton's Shane White was sent off after the melee that followed and the game finished honours even.

On Saturday, Town are in FA Cup second qualifying round action at National League South outfit Havant & Waterlooville.
