TWENTY-EIGHT Enmore Park ladies joined the current lady captain Wendy Walker for an away day at Long Ashton Golf Club, near Bristol last week.
The day started with coffee and bacon bap on arrival, before the golf started on a hot sunny day on a course that was in lovely condition, with especially fast greens.
The Enmore Ladies Away Day competition was a Bowmaker, with two scores to count, which was very fittingly won by Walker, alongside Gwen Cavill and Ann Morrison.
On Wednesday, the winner of the Barrington Cup was Linda Brown with nett 72, while the King Cup saw Anne-Elliott-Rose triumph with 76.
Meanwhile, 45 seniors from Enmore Park crossed the Prince of Wales bridge to contest the immediate past captain Graham Pain’s Away Day at the splendid Newport Club’s course, competing for the individual King Cup and the John Patterson trophy for best team score.
Steve Darch claimed the King Cup, and John Newell, Norman Webb and Peter Farnell the Patterson shield.
