AVENUE Tennis club enjoyed a fantastic open day on Sunday.

Coaches Barry Ramsden and Vinny Duddy were supported by a special guest coach, Corey Niccolls, to lead a variety of fun tennis based activities and games for participants of all ages.

Niccols, who is currently coaching and playing at Rafael Nadal’s coaching centre in Majorca, came along to say hello and was co-opted into helping with the day, which was appreciated by the Avenue coaches and the adults who he took on court.

Duddy said: "We had a very good time, with quite a few families and adults expressing an interest in joining our fantastic club and getting involved in tennis.

"I would like to thank all the parents who helped out on the day, in particular Darren Lloyd, who took some fantastic action photos of the day, as well as all the committee members who prepared teas, coffees, cakes and other food during the day."

Another open day is planned for August - see www.avenuetennis.com or the club's Facebook page for details.

The club run family nights on Friday evenings, with Vinny's Minis for children and a pay and play session (£2) for adults, with all equipment provided.

Avenue also have a month's free membership offer available for anyone who wants to give tennis a go.
