CENTRE-BACK Jake Horsey has returned to Bridgwater Town from Middlezoy Rovers.

Horsey last played for the Robins during 2016/17, the season which saw them relegated from the Southern League Division 1 South & West.

He has since enjoyed two campaigns at Zoy, culminating in their Somerset County League KO Cup win last season, and has now opted to rejoin Bridgwater.

Horsey said: "I’m really excited to come back to a club that looks to be pushing on back to where it belongs in the Southern League.

"I have seen over the last two years that Town have been nearly there, so hopefully this time around the club can get promoted in the upcoming season.

"I am really looking forward to contributing to the platform for success that is being built at the club."

Robins player-manager Dave Pearse said: "Karl & I are delighted that Jake has decided to return to Bridgwater.

"He has been a key player for Middlezoy Rovers for the last two seasons.

"When Jake was here previously, he was just 17 and didn't look out of place at all in the Southern League, so I'm very confident he can carry on from where he left off and be a big part of our team."

Horsey joins ex-Street trio Dave O'Hare, Ross McErlain and Steve Murray in joining Bridgwater for the 2019/20 season.
