SUNDAY saw the Somerset Wyverns take on nearest rivals Torbay Trojans at Victoria Park in Taunton.
The game did not start well at all for hosts Somerset, as the Trojans intercepted a pass and ran it home on just the fourth play of the game, and they then repeated the feat on the opposite side of the field on just the 12th play.
This gave the visitors a commanding 12-0 lead with just half of the first quarter complete.
Things settled down after that, with both defences holding strong.
Although there were some great plays and lots of yards gained, neither offence managed to score for the remainder of the game.
And so the final result was 12-0 to Torbay, meaning they remain undefeated against the Wyverns after four meetings in two years.
Jack Mullins and Ryan Brown were voted MVPs for Somerset.
The Wyverns travel to Wales this coming weekend to take on South Wales Warriors.
The Warriors are currently undefeated and sit 3-0 for the season so far, while the Wyverns have two wins and two defeats.
