THERE were two rather illustrious spectators around the boundary edge as Holford kicked off their West Somerset League Division 1 title defence at Bagborough on Saturday.

England duo Jos Buttler and Jack Leach popped in to see friends on the Holford side - including Buttler's brother in law - run out victors by eight wickets.

And those playing for Bagborough understandably didn't pass up the opportunity to have a photo with the stars.

SPECIAL GUESTS: England duo Jos Buttler and Jack Leach with Bagborough players Martin King, Blake Jones, Toby Stirzaker, Craig Swinburne, Chris Mckee, Henry Stirzaker, David Stirzaker and Tom Salmon

Buttler, who has recently become a father for the first time, has been linked with a return to Somerset when his Lancashire contract runs out at the end of the current season.

He is part of the England squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against Pakistan as preparations continue for this summer's World Cup, in which Buttler will be a key player for the host nation.

Leach, meanwhile, is hoping to play his part in a big summer of cricket as he looks to force his way into England's Ashes squad.

He has played one County Championship match this summer, taking 6-36 in an innings victory against Nottinghamshire, but has not featured in Somerset's Royal London One-Day Cup campaign as his white ball absence continues.
