Bridgwater Town 4, Wellington 1

FOUR different players found the target as Bridgwater Town eased past Wellington in an Easter derby at Fairfax Park.

In front of a bumper Good Friday crowd of 303, the hosts took the lead in style when Patrick O'Halloran volleyed Jake Llewellyn's diagonal pass into the corner on 11 minutes.

Joe Chamberlain missed a gilt-edged chance to level soon afterwards and there was little between the sides for the remainder of the first half.

Town doubled their advantage eight minutes into the second period as Jake Llewellyn netted from the spot following a foul on Ian Bellinger, but it was game on again just three minutes later when Tom Hawkings pounced on a loose ball inside the area to lash home and reduce the arrears.

Former Wellington man Bellinger restored Bridgwater's two-goal cushion shortly after the hour, latching on to a long kick from goalkeeper Connor Sidley-Adams before poking past the goalkeeper, and another ex-Tangerine made it 4-1 late on as Sam Towler converted a rebound after Jake Brown's shot had been saved.

That was how it stayed as Bridgwater stretched their long unbeaten league run - they remain fourth with a game in hand on fifth-placed Westbury United, who they face on Monday.

Wellington stay 16th and make the short trip to title-chasing Willand Rovers on Monday.
