FORMER Taunton RFC prop Ben Moon has been recalled into the England matchday squad for Sunday's Six Nations clash with France at Twickenham (3pm).

Moon made his international debut in the 2018 Autumn Internationals but missed out on selection for the Six Nations opener in Ireland, which England won 32-20.

The Exeter Chiefs man, who also coaches at Wellington School, scored three tries in 25 appearances for Taunton as a 17-year-old in the 2007/08 season and later returned on loan.

Moon will collect his fourth international cap should he feature on Sunday.

There are two changes to England's starting XV - Courtney Lawes replaces the injured Maro Itoje in the second row and Chris Ashton comes in for Jack Nowell on the wing to make his first Six Nations start since 2013.

Sam Skinner, the former Taunton forward in the Scotland squad, was forced off through injury early in the first half in last weekend's opener against Italy.

Skinner has returned to Exeter Chiefs for further medical assessment on his ankle injury and sits out Saturday's match against Ireland at Murrayfield.

For rugby fans in the Westcountry wanting a taste of live Six Nations action this weekend, England Under-20s versus France Under-20s is taking place at Exeter's Sandy Park - kick-off is at 12.05pm on Saturday.
