NEW member Bill Hilson scored a hole in one during the three man Texas Scramble held by Windwhistle Seniors last Wednesday.
Using a nine wood, he shot an ace on the par 3 16th.
A total of 18 teams took part in the match and at half way nothing separated the first three teams.
The windy conditions did nothing to help the golf, and two of the teams fell away on the second nine, recording bogies on four holes.
This left the side led by Keith Harper the winners by two shots.
Result: 1 Keith Harper, Noddy Hodder & Colin Ireland 59; 2 Bob Barrow, Norman Markby & Geoff Dean 61; 3 Bryan Frost, Ian Fielder & Mike Hone 64.
On Friday, with conditions again far from favourable after overnight rain, 15 members entered a three man team Stableford. The wind took its toll and the scoring was poor.
However, Tony Stenhouse managed to lead his team slightly better than the rest to return a score of 73, enough to claim victory by two points.
Result: 1 Tony Stenhouse, Alan Dowley & Mike Cox 73; 2 Keith Harper, Fred Oliver & Andy Beale 71; 3 Noddy Hodder, Mike Light & Robin Flower 70.
