WELLINGTON Reserves won 3-2 at home to reigning Devon and Exeter League champions Heavitree Social Utd to move into the quarter finals of the East Devon Senior Cup on Thursday night.
The visitors, who play in the Premier Division, one above Wellington, had no idea of the shock in store for them as they romped into an early 2-0 lead.
But Wellington soon got into their stride and began carving out chances of their own.
They pulled one back when Jon Stanyard headed powerfully into the roof of the net from Craig Aspin's corner.
Aspin himself got the equaliser, calmly scoring from the penalty spot after the lively Matt Coleman had been fouled.
Wellington completed their revival ten minutes before the break when Coleman slotted home at the end of fine passing move.
After the break, Heavitree piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser that would have forced extra time.
They hit the post and forced a couple of excellent saves from keeper Sam Carreau but, to their credit, the hosts held firm.
