Well, there we have it.
Thanks to a rainy announcement outside Downing Street, soundtracked by D:Ream, we now know we'll be going to the polls on Thursday, July 4 to vote in a general election.
In truth, the timing caught everyone off guard; even some Conservative MPs were expecting to have until the autumn to finish their casework, such as former Levelling Up Minister Dehenna Davison.
We already know some things for sure: ex-Armed Forces Minister and Wells MP James Heappey won't be returning to Parliament after choosing not to stand.
And Ian Liddell-Grainger, who has represented the Bridgwater constituency in its various forms since 2001, will no longer be the town's MP in a few week's time as he instead contests the new Tiverton and Minehead seat.
That means the rest is largely unknown. We can only read so much into polling, but that suggests we're in for some incredibly tight contests. YouGov expects the Tories, Labour and Lib Dems to be split by just four per cent of the vote share in Bridgwater, with several other seats balanced on a knife edge.
You can look at that forecasting on an interactive map HERE.
We'll be there every step of the way as campaigning ramps up, keeping a particularly close eye on a couple of key battles.
For now, here are some of our election stories we hope you'll find useful from the days since Sunak's sodden speech.
Enjoy your bank holiday weekend.
