FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a car blaze on the A303 this afternoon (Wednesday).
The vehicle was well alight when crews attended the incident eastbound between South Petherton and Cartgate.
Fire engines were sent from Martock and Yeovil following a 999 call shortly before 2pm.
The engine compartment was severely damaged by fire and crews used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel, a compressed air foam branch, a thermal image camera and small tools to deal with the incident.
