A HORSE stuck in a deep water filled ditch was rescued by fire crews this afternoon (January 9).
One fire engine and a specialist rescue crew from Bridgwater attended the incident on Place Drove, Westonzoyland, Bridgwater at 12.04pm.
"On arrival the Incident Commander confirmed that a horse was stuck up to its belly in a water filled ditch, and set to work to make the scene safe and a put a plan in place to rescue the horse," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"The horse was eventually rescued by specialist rescue teams using dry suits and lines."
