THERE were 67 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset reported in the latest Government figures.
The highest rise was in Sedgemoor, where there were 21 new confirmed cases of the virus. The overall total of confirmed cases in the district now stands at 1,557.
Mendip had 19 cases recorded, giving it an aggregate of 923 confirmed cases.
In South Somerset there were 15 new cases reported, leading to an overall total of 1,505.
And Somerset West and Taunton saw 12 positive tests, making its overall total 1,510.
The latest seven-day figures for the four Somerset districts show only slight changes to the infection rate.
South Somerset recorded 157 positive tests at an infection rate of 93.3 per 100,000 (up from the previous 92.7).
SWT had 100 new confirmed cases, a rate of 64.5 per 100,000 (up from 60).
Sedgemoor had 122 positive tests, giving it a rate of 99 per 100,000 (down from 101.5).
And Mendip had 127 positive tests, at a rate of 109.9 (previously 114.2).
