A SIXTEEN-year-old boy was driving this car when it skidded off the road and ended up in a water-filled ditch at the side of the road.

The youngster lost control during a police pursuit.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said the teenager failed to stop when requested to do so by officers in East Brent.

The spokesperson added that the car had false number plates and was uninsured.

They said that the boy, although not old enough to own a driving licence, was already disqualified.

Police seized the vehicle at the scene.

A tweet from Avon and Somerset road policing unit said: "The vehicle in the ditch failed to stop today in EastBrent

"The vehicle was on false plates, had no insurance, the driver was disqualified and only 16 years of age.

"A day in court now awaits him for dangerous driving amongst other offences."
