A WOMAN who went missing from a Somerset hospital has been found 'safe' by police.

Carys Viant left Yeovil District Hospital at approximately 10.36pm yesterday (October 22), where she had been due to receive urgent treatment.

The 18-year-old had none of her belongings with her and police were concerned for her welfare.

Avon and Somerset Police launched an appeal to find her and she has now been found.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Police are pleased to confirm that Carys Viant, the 18-year-old missing in Yeovil has been found safe.

"Thanks to everyone who contacted us with information or helped by sharing our appeal."
