THREE people have been arrested following a burglary at a doughnut stand in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

Police were called after three men were seen smashing the window at The Donut Kiosk on South Esplanade, Burnham-on-Sea, at around 1.15am.

The culprits then drove off in a black Honda, which was later located in Taunton Road, Bridgwater.

Items stolen during the raid were recovered.

Three men aged 26, 42 and 50 have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently in custody. Police enquiries are ongoing.

Investigating officer Suzanne Costello said: “We’d like to thank the member of the public who alerted us to the burglary, enabling us to take swift action and recover the stolen property.”
