A HOUSE was damaged by fire early this morning (July 31).
Crews from Burnham and Bridgwater were called to New Road, in East Huntspill, at just before 7am.
They were responding to reports of a fire in the kitchen of the property.
"Upon arrival, the crews advised there was heavy smoke logging in the ground floor of the two-storey, detached property," said a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
The fire caused 50% fire damage to the kitchen and 40% smoke damage to the rest of the property.
The cause of the fire was accidental, the spokesperson added.
