CHILDREN from across Ilminster have been giving thanks to the nation’s health service while the country is in lockdown.

Swanmead School started a ‘We love the NHS’ project by getting the children of key workers to create a sign which hangs outside the Ditton Street building.

The project was the expanded to pupils being forced to learn from home, by encouraging them to send in photos of their own ‘We love the NHS’ posters.

Mark Walker is the headteacher at Swanmead Community School.

He said: “We are all really proud of our frontline NHS personnel and our school very much wanted to display this respect.

“It has also been great to have a range of pictures of children working hard on their Home Learning.”
